Reflection

I enjoyed the book. It really seemed as though a student was telling the story, and a lot of the details in the book were things that really happen in high school! It was interesting hearing another persons side of the story in high school, and the times that each person goes through, that you might not normally notice.

Caged Bird

Melinda relates to this poem because she has a secret that she cant tell anybody, and because she doesn't have many friends. She's afraid to speak out because of how people will think of her. She keeps to herself and doesn't really fit in with the big crowd, like the caged bird.

They could have been bullied or picked on by other people, just because they don't fit in with the crowd.
